The European Commission has launched under its Horizon 2020 program a contest to develop innovative and sustainable mobility solutions for senior citizens (65+). The contest aims to help combat social exclusion and support independent living.
Considering the ageing of society - with a share of 29.5% people aged 65 and older in the EU in 2060 - developing solutions that improve the mobility of older people is becoming more and more urgent.
€1 000 000 will be awarded to the best solution for improving the travel mobility of older people and the four runner-up prizes will receive €250 000 each.
Submissions will be accepted until 28 February 2019 and the prize will be awarded in 2019.
The contest is open to any legal entity or groups of legal entities established in EU Member States.
