Online Summit: Social services and Covid-19: what role for EU?

On 25th June, an online summit will take place to discuss the role of the European Union in supporting social services provision.

Due to the impact of the pandemic on the social services sector, together with organisations representing all forms of social services we are cooperating to better support social services as a whole during the pandemic, because #SocialServicesAreEssentialServices.

This event will bring together social care and support service providers working on the front line facing Covid-19 and European Union representatives. The aim is to discuss the role of the European Union in supporting social service provision and how it can help to ensure the delivery of high quality social care and support in the months and years to come. The summit will end with a joint statement. The Social Employers President Gregor Tomschizek and the General Secretary of the European Public Services Union (EPSU), Jan Willem Goudriaan will speak together during the webinar.

The agenda of the event is available here.

The Joint Position Paper is available here.
