Building and managing employers’ organisations in social services: IWorCon event in Prague

On 21 November 2024, a Dissemination Event in Prague brought together project partners and representatives of social services providers from Lithuania and Latvia. The event addressed the capacity-building needs of the social services sector, with a focus on enhancing social dialogue and employers’ organisations.

The event also marked the official end of a series of study visits organised in IWorCon. The study visits were hosted by employers’ organisations across the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, Austria and the Czech Republic. During the visits, partners learned about the social services sector, the hosting organisations activities and network, and the state of social dialogue in each country. Discussions with national trade unions representatives were also part of the programme.

The dissemination event offered participants a platform to present and discuss key insights from the study visits, structured around several themes relevant for employers’ organisations: membership and networks, financing, social dialogue, communication, and representation and influence.

These discussions will contribute to the development of a practical guide on building and managing effective employers’ organisations in the social services sector.

The forthcoming guide aims to inspire and support organisations, particularly those seeking to develop and strengthen social dialogue in their countries. It is scheduled for release in early 2025.
