On 22 April, the Social Employers participated in the first Advisory Board meeting of the B-WISE project. The meeting was hosted online by the European Network of Social Integration Enterprises (ENSIE).
B-WISE is a 4-year project co-financed by the Erasmus + Programme, bringing together 30 partners across EU member states. The Social Employers will be involved in this project as a member of the Advisory Board to assess, review and give input on the project outcomes, as well as to disseminate the results.
B-WISE aims to develop a European strategy to tackle skills gaps in the Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISEs) sector and to ensure appropriate quality and level of skills to support growth, innovation and competitiveness in the sector. The project targets the skills needs of disadvantaged workers -with a distance to the labour market- their supporters (i.e. job coaches) and their managers.
The project will also promote the attractiveness of the WISE sector as a career choice and it will raise awareness on the importance of the use of digital technologies to support disadvantaged groups in work placement.
The three identified dimensions for skills improvement are:
- Core work-related skills and key digital competences
- How to use and develop (digital) technologies from an employee centered approach
- Integrated cooperation and/or transfer of technology and employees from a WISE to a traditional company.
