Lithuanian Minister of Social Security and Labour welcomes the Social Employers

On the 22nd of June the president of the Federation of European Social Employers, Gregor Tomschizek, met the Minister of Social Security and Labour, Linas Kukuraitis, in the framework of a conference of the Lithuanian social services employers in Vilnius.

The conference offered the opportunity to introduce the Federation of European Social Employer’s objectives, in particular their aim to strengthen the voice of the social sector’s employers at EU level by setting up European Sectoral Social Dialogue structures for social services.

In a following round of discussion with leading Lithuanian organisations in social services, possible ways of further collaboration were discussed. If and how the Lithuanian employers’ organisations will join the Federation of European Social Employers is currently assessed.

Minister Linas Kukuraitis expressed his support in strengthening both national and European Social Dialogue structures of the Lithuanian social services sector.

The Social Employers aim to set up a sectoral social dialogue committee for social services – together with the European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU). The PESSIS+ project is supporting the Social Employers in view of their participation in European Social Dialogue structures.
