Nexem (FR) launches its campaign for the attractiveness of social professions

On 22nd October Nexem launched the “change lives” campaign to enhance the role of the social services workforce.

Between 22nd October and 12th November, Nexem will launch four videos on disability, child protection, elderly care and inclusion sectors. The aim of this initiative is to improve the attractiveness of work in the sector, by highlighting the role of the social services in society, as well as the commitment of their professionals.

Social services provide essential care and support to millions of people in Europe. As highlighted by Commissioner Schmit in our last Conference opening, Covid-19 has shown the importance of the sector in handling the crisis and the key role of the social services workers in informing, educating, supporting, preventing and protecting the most vulnerable and disadvantaged persons and in reducing transmission chains.

Today, more than ever, it is necessary to recognise the work of social care workers and improve the image of the sector. The increasing demand of workforce in Europe puts into the spotlight the need to enhance recruitment and retention in the social services sector and work on the sectors’ attractiveness.

Promotional campaigns such as the one launched by Nexem, can help to make social services more visible to the general public and attract new talents to work in sector.
